Трогательные рассказы из жизни простого церковного люда.  В рассказах В.А. Никифорова-Волгина раскрываются чудесные повествования из жизни православных XIX века.

Vasilii Nikiforov-Volgin (1900–1941) was a writer of short stories. He was born in the Volga region of Russia (from which he adopted the pen-name of “Volgin”) and later moved to the Baltic coast (Estonia) with his family. He was a devoted follower of the Russian Orthodox faith. His short stories were mostly centered on church life, and especially on the persecution of the Orthodox Church by the Soviet authorities. In Estonia he was an editor of a literary journal and became known as a prominent writer of the Russian emigration. After the annexation of the Baltic nations by the USSR, he was arrested in 1941 and soon executed.
